There’s a lot of misconception around cannabis and the industry surrounding it. Cannabis is much more than just a plant that gives you a funny feeling. Although it was classified as illegal and labeled as a poison in the 1930s, researchers and medical trained professionals have been performing various studies to determine the true effects of cannabis and the use of it. The results of the studies have been overwhelmingly positive.
A study titled “The Coronary Artery Risk Development in Young Adults” or “CARDIA” study published by JAMA aka Journal of the American Medical Association discovered that unlike smoking cigarettes, smoking marijuana has no effects on lung damage. Even in some studies shows that there were adverse effects and actually improved the lung capacity of their patients. This is made possible due to the immunosuppressants that are found in the THC compound that interferes with developing respiratory issues.
Cannabis does more than improve respiratory functions but it can also cure and relieve the side effects of various diseases.
A research study was conducted by the AAMC aka American Alliance for Medical Cannabis. They have discovered that Cannabis can regulate and prevent diabetes. The results have shown that cannabis has certain properties that can stabilize blood sugar, lower blood pressure, open blood vessels to improve circulation, suppress some inflammation in the arteries, relieve muscle cramps and gastrointestinal disorder pain, and stimulates the receptors in body and brain to prevent nerve inflammation and ease neuropathy pain.
A study conducted by Bath researchers and The University of Massachusetts Medical School, published in the Journal of Clinical Investigation discovered that Cannabis can be used to treat those with inflammatory bowel diseases like Crohn’s disease. During the study, it was determined that THC & CBD are known components in helping enhance immune responses. These chemical compounds interact with various cells that are vital in gut function. The chemicals are used to block off various bacteria and other factors that may cause inflammation.
Other diseases founded to improve from the use of Cannabis include but not limited to Cancer, Glaucoma, Arthritis, Hepatitis C, Sclerosis, Alzheimer’s Disease, and Parkinson’s. Cannabis helps improve Glaucoma by reducing intraocular pressure and improving blood flow in the eye. Reduces tremors from diseases such as Parkinson’s disease. The Cannabis component called endocannabinoid contains anti-inflammatories used to fight brain inflammation caused by Alzheimer’s Disease. Cannabis also provides relief and reduces the side effects of multiple Sclerosis and Hepatitis C.
Cannabis benefits improve more than physical health but also mental. Studies have shown that Cannabis is a safer alternative treatment for ADHD/ADD rather than the traditional Adderall and Ritalin. Cannabis naturally improves the shortage of dopamine which causes ADHD/ADD. Cannabis stabilizes moods using endocannabinoid compounds used to treat depression. Other mental factors that cannabis improves are Autism, Anxiety, PTSD, and Alcoholism.
Other Cannabis benefits include the ability to help mend bones, regulate seizures, and manage weight loss. Cannabis usage has helped many patients and families across the world and generations that inhabit it. Misguided information causes us to miss out on various life benefits.
