Proper food is provided to the people as their dieticians that are hired for these nursing homes and as per the body and disease, the food is maintained for the people. People at home do not maintain a proper diet so at these nursing homes the diet can be easily maintained. Several facilities are being provided to the people and they can communicate with other people. They do carry a social life in these nursing homes as in these homes usually the activities are being conducted which keeps the people remain busy and they can easily enjoy their life with fun. By staying in these nursing homes, the family members can be relieved of the tensions and the extra care that needs to be given to elderly people. The nursing homes are evaluated and so they can be maintained and thus we can easily figure out the status of the people in the nursing homes. One can visit these nursing homes anytime, meet their loved ones, feel safe, and secure about them.
Disadvantages
One of the biggest disadvantages of nursing homes is that they are quite expensive. All the people can’t afford it so few people have problems in paying the amount. However, the facilities provided by the nursing homes are up to mark and are cost-efficient but it becomes difficult for people to pay for the expenses so due to which they cannot go. There are chances that some of the places are at low cost but then it comes upon the care and the facilities and it is risky for the people. Nursing homes with low budgets usually do not provide good services and hence can be harmful to the people and they might not feel safe there. Sometimes some patients need personal care, which might lack in this. People might feel lonely and depressed and away from the family which might make them ill. So these nursing homes lack homeliness and so this can be a disadvantage for this. These are located far away and so people might have travel issues visiting people and their loved ones. So they have issues in meeting them and so this might create problems.
