Things You Never Knew About Nuts

0

No matter whether in the hot or cold kitchen or just as a snack. Nuts have a delicious aroma and provide you with valuable nutrients. Even if nuts are high in calories and high in fat, you should not be without them. In this post, we’ll explain why nuts are so healthy and what different types there are. Here you will find everything about healthy snacks for in between.

Nuts belong to the group of shell fruit. A hard shell surrounds the fruit core. What we eat as a nut is mostly the aromatic core.

Different Types Of Nuts

Peanut

Peanuts only acquire their typical taste when they are roasted. The brown, thin skin on the kernels has a particularly nutty taste.

Compared to other types of nuts, the peanut is particularly rich in protein and contains less fat like chia seeds. It is also high in fiber, magnesium, and zinc. Since a large part is also contained in the bowl, you should eat it.

We couldn’t do without the delicious peanuts in our dishes. That’s why we have them in our peanut zucchini noodles, for example.

Hazelnut

The hazelnut tastes very nutty and spicy and, at the same time, somewhat sweet. Older nuts can easily taste rancid.

This type of nut is a good source of B vitamins. But calcium, potassium, and zinc are also abundantly contained.

Cashews

Cashews are rather soft and have a slightly sweet taste. They go very well as a topping on Asian noodle dishes. This type of nut is rich in magnesium, copper, potassium, zinc, and folic acid. Cashews can also make you happy when you eat them, as they contain the precursor to the happiness hormone serotonin.

Walnut

The taste of the walnut tells you how fresh the nut is. If it is fresh, it tastes pleasantly bitter-sweet. If the nut is rather old, it has a slightly bitter taste. Walnuts are rich in zinc, magnesium, iron, and potassium. The walnut is also the type of nut that contains the most omega-3 fatty acids.

Pecan

In terms of appearance, the pecan nut is reminiscent of a walnut at first. In terms of taste, however, the two varieties are not at all similar. The pecan has a mild, slightly sweet note.

Especially vitamin A of the pecan has a positive effect on your body because it supports your eyesight. The nuts also contain the minerals calcium, iron, and zinc.

Almonds

Due to their slightly sweet taste, almonds are a popular snack between meals. Almonds provide you with vitamin E, magnesium, vitamin B2, and manganese.

In our recipe for delicious energy balls, we use almonds and cashews as fat and protein sources. The ideal, healthy snack for in between.
